Two local emergency stations are supported by DSRC. N2ARC is the callsign at the
American Red Cross of Central New Jersey, the lead American Red Cross chapter in the
event of a statewide emergency. W2MER is the callsign at the Mercer County Emergency
Operations Center, located at the Dempster Fire Service Training School.
"Open houses" are held the last Monday of each month (except December and May) at
7:15 PM at both the American Red Cross, 707 Alexander Rd (2 blocks east of Rt 1, use
rear entrance) and at the Mercer County EOC located on Lawrence Station Road.
Lawrence Station Road is a right turn off of Quakerbridge Road about a half mile
south of Quakerbridge Mall. Just follow the signs to the fire school. The Mercer
County EOC is in the basement.
It is easy to obtain amateur callsign license plates in New Jersey. And if your callsign is no more than 5 digits you
may also order plates for additional vehicles (e.g. W2ABC-1, W2ABC-2, etc.)
Call 1-888-486-3339 and ask for the Special Plates Unit. Request an application for amateur radio license plates.
Complete the application and submit it with:
A photocopy of your current amateur radio license.
A photocopy of your current vehicle registration.
A check for $15 payable to New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles.
In approximately 3 months you will receive your amateur callsign plates in the mail.
There is no additional annual renewal fee for amateur callsign license plates in NJ.
Pictured is the 30th medal in the distinguished Jewish-American
Hall of Fame series. It commemorates
21-year-old David Sarnoff, who relayed the names of the rescued from
the Carpathia's telegraph operator to newsmen and frantic family members,
and honors Isidore and Ida Straus, who tragically lost their
lives in the Titanic disaster on April 15, 1912.
On the reverse side is a poignant scene of a crowded lifeboat,
with the Titanic sliding into the ocean.
When the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage 1513 lives were lost.
These medals are dedicated to all the victims, so a maximum of
1513 medals have been authorized: 937 bronze, 500 pure silver,
and 50 10kt gold. For information please contact the
Jewish-American Hall of Fame, 5189 Jeffdale Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA 91364.
Telephone (818) 225-1348 (please leave message).
